George Travis Ltd was established 2013 and though recent, has the extensive knowledge and experience gained from amongst its staff to cover a wide area of personal financial matters.
The Firm recently moved to new offices on the outskirts of Chester at Mollington Grange where it continues to build its reputation for providing up-to-date, bespoke and professional financial advice.
We strongly advocate the codes of practice and principles as outlined by the FCA and those from our respective professional bodies. We make every effort to ensure that all advisers follow these principles in all aspects of their advice.
We pride ourselves in being uniquely placed to do what we believe we do best, and that is offering advice on all clients’ financial affairs in a sensitive, professional and holistic manner. The importance of treating all clients fairly as human beings and the ability to be flexible and adaptable to their needs are a vital aspects of our approach.
We are aware of the bureaucracy, constraints and impersonal nature that large organisations can often display when dealing with their clients and we do hope what we have to offer is a refreshing and rewarding alternative for both existing clients and for new clients alike.
We would be pleased to offer all potential clients the opportunity to arrange an initial face to face meeting with an experienced adviser to discuss their circumstances and for us to talk through ways we can be of help. This would be on a no cost, no obligation basis and is intended for new clients to get a better ‘feel’ to what we do and how we go about it. If you would like to get in touch please use our contact form.
Basis of our advice
Financial Planning: We act only as ‘agent’ in the areas of advice we give and we deal with all the prominent ‘providers’ (Insurance companies, Banks, Building societies and Mortgage lenders and Custodial agents) within the industry to ensure you get ‘as good a deal’ in terms of costs as compared to dealing with the providers directly. However we will take additional steps to assess the financial soundness of each company provider, and with a professional set of eyes we can highlight any important details that may not be obviously apparent and those we feel are of particular relevance to you.
We feel it is vital that we offer you continued personal support and review to ensure that the ‘suitability’ aspect of our recommendations remains relevant in the future. We also offer a personal point of contact here who will be able to answer questions on any matter you may need further explanations on.
We do not act as ‘principle’ in any area of advice, product or service; we do not have any products of our own to sell, we are not an insurance company, a mortgage lender, a bank and nor are we able to hold ‘client money’ as a licensed deposit taker. We believe the freedom to choose from a wider market and the liberty to pick what we feel is best for you, are vital ingredients in ensuring the highest quality of the advice possible we can give. Further details of our services can be found on our services page under FPS.
Investment and Wealth Management: As with Financial Planning we are free to advise on a full range on investments, both collective funds and direct investments such as shares. We have are own recommended list of investments to suit each investor’s needs and risk requirements. We advise on a range of investment accounts such as Mainstream personal investment portfolios, ISA’s (including Junior ISA’s and the new Lifetime ISA’s), Trusts, Group (Workplace) Pensions and Personal Pensions. Further details of our services can be found on our services page under IMS.
Our core values
What core values we offer you:
- Personal point of contact
In return we hope you will recognise for being:
Heading the Firm’s advisory team is Seamus Wild, who has extensive experience of managing and advising clients on a wide range of personal financial matters and has worked in the industry for over 26 years.
His initial financial services experience began in 1990 managing and advising on investments where he worked for Rensburg & Co in Liverpool, and where he later became a Director. He soon recognised a growing appetite amongst his clients for broader advice that linked all aspects of their financial affairs rather than viewing their investments in isolation. Accordingly he adapted and developed his expertise to accommodate wider financial issues and to add these to his capabilities in managing investment portfolios.
He further developed his holistic planning expertise and knowledge after moving to Charles Stanley in 2009 where he worked prior to joining George Travis Ltd in 2015.
At a personal level, he holds the current title of Chartered Financial Planner from the CII, which we recognise as the ‘gold standard’ of achievement and professionalism for financial advisers and he is a member of the Personal Finance Society and the Society for Mortgage Professionals.
We are also pleased to have his experience in Wealth Management where he holds the coveted title of Chartered Wealth Manager from the CISI (Chartered Investment and Securities Institute). He is a member and accredited adviser from SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers) which we regard as an invaluable professional compliment to his qualifications with the CII and CISI.
